Assault weapons ban dropped from Senate bill
Tue Mar 19, 2013
The young man responsible for Sandy Hook was mentally ill. He also didn't purchase the weapon he used. His mother who was NOT mentally ill purchased it.
White House: Sequester won't stop Easter Egg Roll
Tue Mar 19, 2013
I truly believe they (the White House) planned on cancelling it as a "see what Congress let happen". The cancellation of White House tours and blaming the sequester has blown up in their faces already. They didn't want another PR disaster.
Fat-shaming may curb obesity, bioethicist says
Thu Jan 24, 2013
I'm surprised. Usually on posts for this type of story, there is rarely anyone who stands up and acknowledges there are legitimate medical reasons why some people are obese. I happen to be one with a very serious medical reason that's caused mine.
Porn actress-turned-teacher unfit to return to school, judges say
Thu Jan 17, 2013
What made this a distraction is the school's reaction to it. If they had just dealt with her not disclosing it, all of the interest would have died away quickly. 8th graders have very short attention scans. I think the administration of the school needs how to deal with situations better.
Employed but still homeless, working poor say 'Homelessness can happen to anybody'
Wed Nov 28, 2012
"Unable to afford child care, Cindy Kennard was forced to quit her job." She was a director at a childcare facility. How could they not afford child care? Medical bills will certainly wipe you out financially.
Day at Olympics well worth $1,000 for family of four, NJ fans say
Fri Aug 10, 2012
Why are so many being so harsh and negative about how a family spends their vacation? I know people who spend $5,000+ to go to DisneyWorld for a week (airfare, tickets, hotel, food).
No fair! Weak economy leads to adult sibling rivalry
Thu Aug 9, 2012
I'm the only one who never has. All five of my siblings have. Even the grandkids have gone to my parents for financial assistance.
Latest work perk: unlimited vacations

Some would definitely abuse. They abuse now because we're not on a time clock.
Feet-in-lettuce photo hits Internet, gets Burger King employees fired
Wed Jul 18, 2012
To me, this isn't much different than the migrate workers who "relieve" themselves in the fields, causing the listeria and e coli recalls. Our food safety system doesn't work anymore and we've got a lot of stupid people handling our food supplies.
Study: Spanking may increase risk of mental illness
Mon Jul 2, 2012
My parents raised six normal, well adjusted kids and if deserved, we were spanked. There's no mental illness in our family. I agree with most of the posters - there's a difference between spanking and abuse. "Time out" and "re-direction" doesn't work with kids these days.
